This page is designed as a warning or prelude to viewing my mares. PLEASE make sure you understand everything I am saying BEFORE you book one or more mares' years. Thank You!!
All of my mares are listed with the primary purpose being an easy reference guide for me. This is far easier than carrying a beat up old binder with all of their paperwork losely filed away in it. If you are interested in using one of my mares to be the dam of your foal, you do so at these risks:
FIRST: It is understood that you are an MRF (Model Racing Form) member and have full intention of racing the resulting foal when it comes of age (no sooner than age 2, but there is no limit when it's career may end).
SECOND: And Newbies beware! I don't mean to sound stuck up, but I value my horses above anything else and it took me a LONG time to put this herd together. THEREFORE, if I do not know you (i.e. am not familiar with your name right away), please don't get upset if I "turn down" or refuse to accept a breeding at first asking. As I get to know people, this will change of course and I will even "give" you currently running horses from my stock as I feel the need to trim down the string. But I want to make absolute SURE that your intentions are true and you REALLY mean to race this foal! I have been very gracious over the years to many people and then they just up and left the hobby, taking EVERY single horse with them!
THIRD: When a breeding is accepted, if you are NOT using one of my stallions to cover the mare, please make sure that you send me the information listed below. And this is NECESSARY for approval! No mare of mine will be bred to an unsuitable stallion, therefore ALL STALLIONS MUST BE APPROVED FIRST! Also, when breedings are approved, you may either work something out with me via email, or send me a SASE for any hard copy papers you would like in your possession.
1) Stallion name, color, year foaled, Race Track achievements (i.e. Lifetime race record: Total, wins, 2nds, 3rds, 4ths; And track titles won, biggest achievements, etc), FOUR (4) generation pedigree (if most of the horses in the pedigree are real, I will probably have this information already, but check with me first), and siring record (best foals, or abbreviated stats: i.e. Wrs, Stks Wrs, CHs, etc.).
2) If you are using one of my stallions however, and you are supplying the mare, then you would submit the same format of information and any foals she might have as well. ALL OF THIS IS IMPORTANT INFORMATION!
3) And finally if you are using both one of my stallions and one of my mares, then the following information needs to be submitted: Foal name (or intended name), color, sex, and year of birth.
FOURTH: YEARLY UPDATES ARE APPRECIATED!!! This is a way for me to find out how this foal is doing so that my horses get the appropriate credit. These can be sent directly to me via email, or snail mailed to me (address available upon request), or by also posting this information in the bi-monthly magazine, the MRF of which you must be a subscriber to even have a shot at using my stock!
FIFTH: In conjunction with the above, if I do not receive an update on an annual basis and I have not heard from you for over a year, I WILL TAKE THE YEAR BACK AND KEEP IT MYSELF, OPEN THE YEAR BACK UP FOR USE, OR GIVE IT TO SOMEONE ELSE. If this is too much for you to handle THEN PLEASE DO NOT BOOK TO MY HORSES!!
